Somers Wood Caravan Site Review
If you are looking for an adult only caravan or motorhome site in the Warwickshire area then Somers Wood is highly recommended by us. The site is very close to the motorway network of the M6 and M42 but there is very little noise heard on the site, which is surrounded by trees and foliage and provides a private and tranquil feel.
We recently spent a week at this site with our Adria and were very impressed. Angela and Marc own the site and they are assisted by Louise, Tracey and Simon who are all very friendly and hard working.
Somers Wood is a great place to stay to be close to the NEC or for a day out shopping at the Touchwood Centre.
The site has plenty of facilities, including 48 Spacious hardstanding pitches, 4 are fully serviced. Pitches all have 10A electric hook-up, many include a grassed area. We had a lovely sized pitch, plenty large enough for our 8ft wide caravan, sun canopy and car. They were level too which always helps.
They have four RV pitches and can accommodate motorhomes and fifth-wheel trailers up to 42ft.
The log cabin style heated shower block features private wash cubicles, toilets, wash basins, free flowing hot showers, hand dryers, hair dryers and shaver points. Music is also played in them which is a nice touch.
There is a separate disabled suite which is wheelchair accessible and offers a fully-fitted disabled shower and washroom.
Whilst on the site we used our caravan aerial to pick up over 100 TV channels but if you struggle with reception the site have installed satellite dish connection points. You will require your own satellite receiver and connection lead. Satellite connection leads are available to purchase from reception where available.
The site offered a laundry and dish washing area for guests to use, we found it cost £4.00 to wash a clothing load.
If your curious about what to do in the area then the Information Cabin & Library contains local tourism and visitor attraction information, Pub menus, Take-away Chinese and Indian Menus (both of which deliver directly to the park), Local walking guides and a Book Exchange.
If you are coming in a Motorhome then there is a service point, but not for chemical waste, only toilet cassettes can be emptied on site.
On site at Somers Wood there are fresh water and grey waste disposal points located around the park.
WiFi can be purchased at reception if needed although good signal was available with Vodafone.
Well behaved pets welcome and there is a nice dog walk from the site down the old road that takes you down to the village nearby. We also walked Fudge on the lane leading to the golf course opposite. You can also get a nice meal in the clubhouse at Stonebridge Golf Course which is a few minutes on foot.
Nearby there are several supermarkets, petrol stations and pubs. Overall Somers Wood Caravan Site has plenty to offer and have already made a booking for next year.
