Love2Stay, Shrewsbury
Love2Stay, Shrewsbury
Will you actually love to stay here, did we love our recent stay. You may have a few questions about Love2Stay and I will answer them below for you.
What is on offer at Love2Stay?
Love2Stay offers 122 hard standing pitches and they are all fully serviced. The site itself covers 22 acres in total so the pitches are well spaced and small hedges have been planted for added privacy. The site itself was purpose built a few years ago and it situated next to Salop Leisure. The pitches all offer fantastic views of the Shrewsbury countryside.
Three of the pitches have pre-erected Isabella awnings which you can stay on for a premium. These are weather proof and equipped with a sofa, table and chairs, beanbags and an electric fire.
As well as fantastic pitches the site offers a state of the art facility building which offers toilets, showers, laundry and a dog shower. The showers are all operated by sensors and are all fixed heads. We were a little disappointed there was no way to adjust the temperature of the shower and found the water a little cool on several days. The site was quiet on our visit so we didn’t have to queue to use them at all. Hair dryers are installed and free to use and the building was well heated so we didn’t get cold whilst drying off.
There is only one refuse and recycle point on the site and that is opposite reception. We would have preferred a further collection point nearer the pitches. As we found it was some way to the disposal point with bags of rubbish in the rain.
If you don’t have your own leisure vehicle then there are 11 glamping tents available on site. The glamping tents were well positioned near the entrance to the site and are a generous size.
Love2Stay is well located on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, there are plenty of shops and retail parks positioned nearby. There are plenty of great days out, including National Trust, the RAF Museum and Ironbridge, which does have an excellent pie shop.
What can I do at Love2Stay?
You can do as little or as much as you like, we found the site very relaxing and we enjoyed strolling around, there is a short trail around the side of the site.
If you enjoy working out there is a well equipped gym on site which is included in the pitch fee, we did use this a few mornings during our stay. There is also an exercise trail which is also great for a jog or run.
Love2Stay pods Play park Activity play area
There is also free use of the outdoor pools, one of which is heated, and there was also a small sandy beach area to play in. There was plenty to keep the children entertained with a huge playground also onsite.
Electric bikes could also be rented on the site, although we didn’t try these, and you could also cycle around the site. We were advised to book these 24 hours before to give chance for them to be charged.
Other activities included kayaking and fishing nearby, if you want to keep busy then there’s plenty to do for certain.
Is there a restaurant at Love2Stay?
Situated within the reception building is a fantastic restaurant and coffee shop which is open daily. Whilst we were there it was open from 9am until 6 pm and until 9pm at the weekend . They offered a good choice of hot drinks and cakes throughout the day along with a good snack menu. The choices included sandwiches, jacket potatoes, chicken burgers, nachos and pizza. The food was well priced and very good, we ate in here twice during our stay and called in most days for a coffee and cake. This was allowed as we had also visited the gym.
Are dogs welcome at Love2Stay?
Dogs are welcome, Fudge enjoyed his stay. There is a dog agility course on site for those owners who are considering entering Crufts next year. There is a trail you can walk around with your dog and if they get muddy there is a warm dog shower. It does say that Dobermans and Rottweilers are not allowed on site. Yet we did see two Dobermans during our stay, so I am not sure if this enforced.
Dogs are welcome in the restaurant too so you don’t have to leave them behind.
Do they have Wi-Fi at Love2Stay?
Yes they do, you can get a code from reception. Where we were on the corner pitch DP01 we did not find the internet very good but our 4G signal was excellent.
How much is it at Love2Stay?
Now this is the question most people ask, I booked our stay at the end of September well in advance and paid £32 a night. The standard price nearer the time was £42 and if you book a pitch with an Isabella awning pre-erected that is £72.
In busier periods and high season the prices goes up-to £62 a night which is well above what many people would pay. Included in that price are the facilities and activities which makes this a great family holiday site and it felt very safe.
For details of prices for pitches and glamping tents you can visit their website.
Would you recommend Love2Stay?
Yes, a big yes, we enjoyed the site and our stay. The site was quiet due to the time of year and it gave us a nice amount of privacy. Each morning we saw a lovely sunrise and each evening there was an amazing sunset. We enjoyed walking down to get a coffee each day and wandering down to Salop Leisure to look at the showroom and accessories.
Even when the weather wasn’t good there was plenty to do on site and in the surrounding area.
The site was well maintained and looked after, even if its just a one off treat its worth a visit, we will be back next year without doubt.
