If your caravan is getting to be a bit long in the tooth, it might be time to think about giving it a brand new facelift to bring it right up to date.

If that sounds like a good idea to you, here are our top tips for modernising your caravan right now:

Upcycle the upholstery

One of the things that will make the most impact on how your caravan looks and feels is the fabric on the furniture and curtains. Fabrics tend to be very of their time in terms of pattern and design, and they can get very worn over the years, so by simply picking out a fresh new fabric, whether it be a bold botanical print or a subtle shade of grey, really is one of the best ways to get your van feeling more modern in no time at all.

Wrap it

If you’re the kind of person who loves custom car wraps to give your vehicle a bit more personality and make it stand out from the crowd, there is no reason why you cannot use similar wraps on your caravan to bring it right up to date.

Not only that, but wraps and decals can also protect your caravan’s bodywork from issues like chipping when you run over stones, so not only do they look great, but they can really help to keep your caravan in good shape too.

Change the lightbulbs

If your caravan feels a bit old and dingy, one of the simplest things you can do, that will barely cost you any money at all, is to switch out old incandescent bulbs for LED light strips instead. These will significantly brighten up your van’s interior and make it feel like a whole new vehicle.

Add some accessories

Your caravan is like a home away from home, so if you want it to be as comfortable as possible, you need accessories like cushions, rugs and knick-knacks. Switching out your accessories for more up-to-date versions is also a really good way to modernise your caravan.

Ditch the old cushions and replace them with bright, bold versions with modern prints of animals, flowers or cityscapes. Remove that worn-down rug and replace it with a Fuschia pink or faux cowhide version. Get rid of that old porcelain knick-knacks and replace them with modern steel sculptures or photo frames filled with pictures of your recent travels and pretty soon your van will start to look and feel more modern.

Do some spring cleaning

It’s amazing how much a good deep clean can transform your caravan from feeling old and drab to feeling fresh and modern, so get your marigolds on and start scrubbing, brushing and vacuuming until your caravan looks bang up to date.

As you can see, there are lots of pretty simple things you can do to modernise your caravan, and make it much more appealing to spend time in, right now, so what are you waiting for? Get out there and make it happen.
